How Stathmos handles your data

Last updated 12 July 2026

Who we are

The 4ᵗʰ Place Standard is issued and maintained by Stathmos, a non-profit civic-standard project based in Salamanca, Spain. For any privacy question, contact standard@fourthplacestandard.org.

What we collect

When you register a venue, we collect the information you enter: venue name, venue type, city, country, and optionally street address and website — all intended for public listing — plus a contact email, which is not published. We do not use advertising trackers or sell any data, ever.

Why we collect it, and the legal basis

We publish the venue name and location in the public directory so patrons can find adopting venues — this is the purpose you register for (consent, and our legitimate interest in operating the directory under the GDPR). We use the contact email only to confirm and administer the listing.

What is public and what is not

Public: venue name, type, city, country, and any address or website you choose to provide. Private: your contact email and any notes, which are visible only to Stathmos administrators.

How long we keep it

We keep a listing while the venue participates in the standard. If a venue withdraws or is delisted, we remove the public listing and delete the associated contact details within a reasonable period.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and you may withdraw a listing at any time. Email standard@fourthplacestandard.org and we will act without undue delay.

Where your data is stored

Directory data is stored with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) on servers in the European Union. The website is served by Vercel. Both process data on our behalf under their respective data-processing terms.

Changes

We will update this notice as the project formalizes. Material changes will be noted with a new revision date.
